Samridh support

ACT Grants was founded in March 2020 by Venture Capitalists and founders from the Indian start-up ecosystem to bring entrepreneurial innovation to public delivery in the trying times of COVID- 19. With support from ACT Grants’ NGO partners, Moglix will distribute Rural Homecare Kits to rural community health workers to provide a household point of care service for mild COVID-19 cases, thereby reducing pressure on healthcare facilities. Moglix will provide PPE kits with various equipment for supporting home care to on-ground NGOs, social enterprises, and administrative bodies.

The financial assistance secured from SAMRIDH will enable Moglix to strengthen the home care delivery infrastructure in rural India and build capacities of rural frontline workers such as ANMs, ASHA, and Anganwadi workers. The solution aims to reach 55,000 frontline workers through capacity building and distribution of homecare kits covering over 33,00,000 households.

The surge of COVID-19 cases and deaths in India during its second wave highlighted the weaknesses of its current public healthcare infrastructure. The wave demonstrated the critical need to expand public health infrastructure to help populations most at risk by adapting service delivery, improving sustainable solutions, ensuring medical supplies and resources are allocated equitably. The Omicron variant rapidly spreads with a high sample positivity rate. Preliminary reports from Global as well as Indian experts indicate that vaccinated people require lesser hospitalizations and thus home care and home-based covid management including telemedicine will be central to an effective response against Omicron.

Moglix has proposed, “Home Care”, to enable mildly affected COVID-19 patients to isolate and recover at home and thus reduce the burden on healthcare facilities. Moglix is an integrated service provider that offers a variety of services and equipment to support At-Home Care to on-ground NGOs, social enterprises, and administrative bodies. Under this, self-management at the household level is made possible with the aid of basic medical supplies and the dissemination of simple-to-understand awareness protocols.
